Japan is mainly known for its extraordinary green teas like matcha, sencha, gyokuro etc. But there’s not only „green”! Japan also produces other categories of tea, some of them are true hidden gems: flavorful black tea, flowery oolong, precious white tea and local fermented tea. These rare and unique specialties are made with care and passion by expert farmers and tell us more about the flavor and rich cultural variety of Japanese tea.
We will discover their story, caracteristics, manufacturing tecniques, brewing method and, most of all, we will enjoy their amazing aroma!
The teas are:
Sencha Ranryu, the „orchid dragon”, an unusual green tea made with cultivar Inzatsu 131;
Japanese white tea, extremely rare, elegant and flavorful tea, newly developed in Shizuoka;
Yuzucha, Japanese semi-oxidized tea, flavored with fresh yuzu citrus peel (organic)
Wakocha, rich traditional black tea, with an unexpected twist, from Ureshino, and Awabancha: a rare fermented folk tea from Tokushima, with a peculiar aroma
